Strain nomenclature: B6.129P2-Lifrtm1a(EUCOMM)Hmgu Lyz2tm1(cre)Ifo/JAusbAnu
Nickname: Lifr fl:LysMcre
Genetics
Strain Types Mutant strain
Genetic Details Targeted knockin
Targeted floxed
Mode of Inheritance Recessive
1.  Affected Gene Name: lysozyme 2
Chromosome 10
Affected Gene Symbol Lyz2
Protein expression of altered gene: Normal
Genetic alteration of gene: An NLS-cre gene was inserted into the endogenous ATG start site of the gene. An frt-flanked neomycin cassette was removed in ES cells via Flp-mediated recombination prior to production of chimeric mice.
Location on chromosome (bp): Chr10:116714597-116719328 bp, - strand

2.  Affected Gene Name: leukemia inhibitory factor receptor
Chromosome 15
Affected Gene Symbol Lifr
Genetic alteration of gene: The L1L2_Bact_P cassette was inserted at position 7164074 of Chromosome 15 upstream of the critical exon(s) (Build GRCm38). The cassette is composed of an FRT site followed by lacZ sequence and a loxP site. This first loxP site is followed by neomycin under the control of the human beta-actin promoter, SV40 polyA, a second FRT site and a second loxP site. A third loxP site is inserted downstream of the targeted exon(s) at position 7164933. The critical exon(s) is/are thus flanked by loxP sites. A "conditional ready" (floxed) allele can be created by flp recombinase expression in mice carrying this allele. Subsequent cre expression results in a knockout mouse. If cre expression occurs without flp expression, a reporter knockout mouse will be created.
Location on chromosome (bp): 7129572-7197489 bp, + strand From NCBI annotation of GRCm38
