Phenotype
Phenotype Homozygous State Homozygous null female mice have irregular oestrus cycles and are infertile. Defects of the pituitary gland include hyperplasia, which progresses to adenoma, and impaired secretion. Abnormal branching of the mammary ductal tree: * ductal system comprises an extended branching network but devoid of terminal and lateral lobulation Decreased prolactin level: * in the pituitary Decreased circulating prolactin level Failure of embryo implantation Abnormal mammary gland morphology Abnormal branching of the mammary ductal tree: * ductal system comprises an extended branching network but devoid of terminal and lateral lobulation Abnormal estrous cycle: * a consistent pattern of cycling was not established.
