Phenotype Homozygous State Homozygotes develop shortened and lateral rotation (valgus?) of radius and ulna leading to short and splayed forelegs. Female homozygotes can breed. Male homozygotes die suddenly during mating with haemorrhages in seminiferous glands (this is currently being re-investigated). Some homozygotes also develop perineal hernias. Chkbrmd Homozygous null mice display progressive muscular weakness and dystrophy in the hindlimbs but have normal nerve and neuromuscular junction morphology.
