Sperm Cryopreservation:
- Please enter the strain information via the submit a strain page.
- At the end of the submission process you will asked if you would like to submit mice for cryopreservation. Click on this link.
- Complete the online form.
- You will receive notification by automated email that your request has been received.
- The APB coordinator will process you request.
- Both you and the animal facility contact you have nominated will receive confirmation. The animal facility contact will be asked for additional information including mouse identification method (i.e. ear punch guide) and health reports. These can be provided online via the links provided in the email.
- Upon provision of all of the information your mice will be scheduled to a cryopreservation session. We will attempt to assign the ice to the cryopreservation node closest to your facility.
- You will receive notification of the scheduled cryopreservation date and shipping arrangements.
- It is your or the animal facility contact's responsibility to ensure the mice arrive at the APB node at the requested day and time.
- At the completion of the sperm cryopreservation you will receive an emailed letter advising of the arrival of the mice at our facility and the cryopreservation took place.
- On completion of the quality control, test thaw and possible IVF you will receive an emailed letter with the results.
During this process please download the MTA template, enter the strain names on the last page and arrange for 2 originals to be signed by the Institution assigned representative (e.g. DVC-R or IP manager) and posted to the Curator. Cryopreservation will not occur unless the MTA has been signed |
