The Cryopreservation Process
Once you have shown interest in any of the above services the Curator will contact you providing the relevant forms to fill in.
The submitting researcher / Institution maintains ownership of the strain and may make access to the strain dependent upon the signing of an MTA.
For Sperm cryopreservation these will include:
- Strain Submission form: this has the information about the strain characteristics
- Genotyping Form: details of how the strain is identified by genotype, e.g. PCR or Southern blot
- Identification chart: how the individual animals are identified, e.g ear punch
- Sperm Cryopreservation request form: individual animal information including date of birth, ID number
- MTA: material transfer agreement between Australian Phenomics Facility and your Institution
- Health reports (2 most recent)
For the MTA 2 originals must be signed by the Institution assigned representative (e.g. DVC-R or IP manager) and posted to the Curator. Cryopreservation will not occur unless the MTA has been signed.
